A Walk on the Wild Side Craft Party

A Walk on the Wild Side Craft Party

My favorite thing to do on a cold wintery day is to craft! Yesterday Jennifer Shoemaker  taught an abstract painting craft party!

She began the class by talking about how to get started painting and how to try to let go of your thoughts and judgements. She did a short demonstration before we got started.

We got a chance to practice on some printmaking paper before moving onto the canvas.

We played with color and paints.  She gave us guidance when we were stuck.  She also brought some heavy bodied paints for us to experiment with.

After we were close to being done, Jennifer showed us how to work with glazes to tie the painting together. It was really fun to see the transformation.

Here are the finished pieces!
